Originally from the Netherlands, Bert Hofhuis spent three decades in international logistics and corporate finance — managing large-scale projects across Africa, Asia, and Europe for organisations including Maersk, the German Government (GIZ), and UK DFID.
In 2015, he recognised a gap: ordinary people approaching retirement in the UK had nowhere to find plain-language, trustworthy guidance on the financial decisions that mattered most. He pivoted, and built a network of six UK personal finance media platforms to fill that gap.
